We are excited to announce our 2nd Annual Shamba Safari Chase 5K and Carnival. This family event is designed to help our communities, both local and far away, come to know our kids and walk in their shoes! Time: 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Location: Jensen Nature Park
3176 S Bluff Rd, Syracuse
event schedule
- 3:00 - On-site registration opens
- 3:30 - Pre-registered packet pick-up opens
- 4:00 - Event opens
- 4:30 - "Gazelle Gallop" begins (for our kid runners not in the 5K)
- "Walkabout" (for our leisurely participants with strollers, toddlers, or wheelchairs) - 5:00 - "Safari Chase" 5K begins (5:00 for runners / 5:15 for walkers)
- 6:30 - Awards
SHAMBA SAFARI CHASE
This event is sure to be fun for the whole family.
Activities include:
- Cheetah Chase - 5k race
includes: tshirt, post race snacks, (kid zone for younger participants) - Gazelle Gallop -1 mile fun run
includes: t-shirt, kid-zone activities - Warthog Walkabout
includes: access to leisure walking path and kid-zone activities
kid zone activities
Included with any of the above event registrations is the incredibly fun, educational and engaging Kid Zone. Activities in the Kid Zone include:
- Games
- Crafts
- Animals to see and hold
- Mock Classroom (Classroom built to replicate a typical classroom the children in many Kenyan schools learn in).
